Build these extremely useful Acme Screw Jack Stands for metal fabrication with these plans for 4 different sizes of jacks. CNC cut files (dxf) for all 4 sizes and a 15 page detailed pdf with step by step instructions will be available for immediate download after purchase. The plans include a detailed list of specialty hardware with links and part numbers.

All measurements are in inches, at this time there is not a metric version available. Look out for additional plans with metric versions in the future.

Minimum set of tools to complete this build:
-MIG or TIG welder
-Angle grinder w/ cutoff wheel and grinding wheel
-Measuring tape
-Optional: chop saw or bandsaw
-Optional: welding table
-Optional: CNC plasma table

Approximate cost to build:
The cost will vary significantly depending on how many you are building and where you source materials. When ordering all components, including custom laser cut plates, online in relatively small quantities (2-4 stands at a time), the total cost is approximately $75 to build each 1" acme screw stand and $40 to build each 1/2" acme screw stand. They could be designed to be cheaper, but I'd rather pay more to over-build something that will last.

These are not safety jack stands and are not intended to support vehicles or any other load with people working underneath. While they are very heavy duty, this design has not been tested or safety certified as a load-supporting device. The user of the plans and stands assumes all risk.
